Materials

• Yarn for head (size 4)
• Yarn for eyes (size 6)
• Crochet hook (3.5mm)
• Yarn needle
• Plushie stuffing
• Safety eyes (8mm)
• Scissors
• Stitch markers
• Keychain ring
• Jewelry pliers

 

Abbreviations

• MR - Magic Ring
• CH - Chain
• SC - Single Crochet
• HDC - Half Double Crochet
• INC - Increase

Directions

Head

• R1: 6sc in mr (6)
• R2: inc in every st (12)\
• R3: [sc, inc] x6 (18)
• R4: [2sc, inc] x6 (24)
• R5: [3sc, inc] x6 (30)
• R6-7 (2 rounds): sc in every st (30)
• R8: [4sc, inc] x6 (36)
• R9-10 (2 rounds): sc in every st (36)
• R11: [4sc, dec] x6 (30)
• R12: [3sc, dec] x6 (24)
• R13: [2sc, dec] x6 (18)
• add stuffing and safety eyes between R8-9, about 5 stitches apart
• R14: [sc, dec] x6 (12)
• R15: dec x6 (6)
• SL ST, weave through front loops to close

 

Ears x2

Color changing is optional

Start with red yarn:

• R1: 6sc in mr (6)
• R2: [2sc, inc] x2 (8)
• R3: sc, (white) inc, (red) 3sc, inc, 2sc (10)
• SL ST and leave tail to sew

 

Spikes

• Slip knot
• ch 3, [sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch]
• ch 3, [sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch]
• ch 1 and leave tail to sew

 

Horns

• R1: 4sc in mr (4)
• R2: [sc, inc] x2 (6)
• R3-4 (2 rounds): sc in every st (6)
• SL ST and leave tail to sew

 

Snout

• Slip knot, ch4
• Start in 2nd chain from hook: inc, sc, inc,
• Flip to the other side: inc, sc, inc
• SL ST and leave tail to sew

 

Assembly

• Sew ears R2-6 on top of the head, about 4 stitches apart (no stuffing needed)
• Sew horns R2-3 between the ears
• Sew the spikes under each ear, R6-10
• Weave yellow yarn between eyes for whiskers
• Sew the snout over the whiskers, R9-11
• Wrap white yarn around the outer half of the eyes, tighten to preference
• Attach the keychain to the top of the head
