Introduction

Materials

  • Chunky yarn (size 6)
  • Crochet hook (5mm)
  • Safety eyes (8mm)
  • Yarn needle
  • Plushie stuffing
  • Scissors
  • Stitch markers
  • (optional) Felt & glue

 

Abbreviations

  • MR - Magic ring
  • CH - Chain
  • SC - Single crochet
  • BO - Bobble stitch (5 loops on hook)
  • FLO - Front loop only
  • INC - Invisible Increase
  • DEC - Invisible Decrease
  • ST - Stitch
  • SL ST - Slip Stitch
  • FO - Finish Off

 

Directions

Legs

Make two legs then join them to make the body.

With white yarn:

Leg 1

  • R1: 6sc in magic ring (6)
  • R2: [2sc, inc] x2 (8)
  • SL ST and FO

Leg 2

  • R1: 6sc in magic ring (6)
  • R2: [2sc, inc] x2 (8),
  • chain1 then sc into any st of the first leg to join


Body + Head

  • R3: 8sc, sc in ch, 8sc, sc in ch (18)
  • R4-6 (3 rounds): sc in every st (18)
  • R7: 5sc, 1BO, 6sc, 1BO, 5sc (18)
  • R8: sc in every st (18)
  • R9: [sc, dec] x6 (12)
  • Add some stuffing for the legs
  • R10: FLO inc every st (24)
  • R11-12 (2 rounds): sc in every st (24)
  • R13: [2sc, dec] x6 (18)
  • R14: sc in every st (18)
  • Add more stuffing and safety eyes R12-13, 3 visible stitches apart
  • R15: [sc, dec] x6 (12)
  • R16: dec x6 (6)
  • FO and sew closed

 

Ears x2

  • R1: 8sc in magic ring (8)
  • Leave yarn tail to sew. Do not slip stitch!

 

Snout

  • R1: 8sc in magic ring (8)
  • SL ST and leave yarn tail to sew

 

Assembly

  • Sew ears between R13-15 on top of the head
  • Sew the snout R11-13, centered between the eyes
  • Cut a piece of yarn and tie a bow around the neck
  • Add a nose, using felt or embroider with yarn
